Nairobi, Kenya –- United Religions Initiative and the African Media Initiative organized a celebration of 2015 World Interfaith Harmony Week at the Desmond Tutu Centre in Nairobi. The gathering brought together dozens of representatives from various faiths, religions and spiritual traditions. The celebration was opened with a Buddhist invocation by Meredith Beal of Soka Gakkai International, who also represented the African Media Initiative. His invocation was followed by Hindu, Christian, Muslim and Behai prayers and messages, a prayer from a traditional African spiritual tradition and a host of others.
